Immediate Family - Now on DVD, Blu-ray and streaming

Here is the latest update on the Wrecking Crew follow up film, "Immediate Family".

It is now May and the film has been shown throughout North America for over six months. It is currently available on HULU (where you can also see the Wrecking Crew Documentary).

If you do not have HULU, you can rent the film on many of the pay per view platfoms; Amazon Prime, Apple TV, VUDU,YouTube and many more.

But if you are one of those folks that still have a Blu-ray or DVD player, you're in luck! Not only are 'we' special, but only you will be able to watch the bonus material. The Blu-ray has 3 hours of extras and the DVD has 1 hour. Both of these have the Round Table discussion with the band.

Long Beach Blues Society

Immediate Family screened at the Art Theater in Long Beach helping out the Long Beach Blues Society for a charity event.

The Long Beach Blues Society serves youth, seniors and veterans and underserved communities by providing inspirational learning opportunities, concerts and interactive engagements across Southern California through the time and talents of award winning Blues artists, writers, broadcasters and educators. They preserve the past and promote the future of the Blues!

Savannah, Georgia

The band just played a concert in Savannah, Georgia at for "Me, Myself, & Us" hosted by Thomas Claxton. Thomas Claxton, partnered with Georgia Southern University and the Gretsch School of Music. A special thanks to Fred and Dinah Gretsch who hosted an amazing evening.

It was a great couple of days. Unfortunately, Waddy wasn't able to join the band, but his seat was filled with lead guitarist and founding member of the 'Cars', Elliot Easton. The band was sensational and after the screening the next night, Russ Kunkel, Leland Sklar,and Steve Postell gave a great Master's Class for the attendees.

Favorite part of the trip: Mrs. Wilkes' experience! Southern Cooking.

The band will be off for a couple of months while the guys take care of business; but you still can find them on the road.

Finally Here! Watch The New Film in Theaters or On Demand.

The Immediate Family film is officially being released in various theaters around the country on Tuesday the 12th of December. Some theaters will only be showing it for an evening and others will be longer.

The opening week is extremely important in the future of this doc. If it does well the first week, it will help us find a streaming service. So a rental would be really helpful this weekend.

The Immediate Family film - Screenings in LA and Maui

Dear Wrecking Crew Family and Friends,

I know you don't receive many emails from us, but wanted to share with you the follow-up to the Wrecking Crew Film that I finished this year. Its called, "Immediate Family". At the moment, we are playing the Festival Circuit and have earned seven Audience Awards as of today.

It tells the story of the next generation of players that followed the Wrecking Crew into the 70s: Waddy Wachtel, Danny "Kootch" Kortchmar, Leland Sklar, and Russ Kunkel. It includes legendary superstars like Carole King, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Keith Richards, Don Henley, David Crosby, Jackson Browne, Neil Young, Stevie Nicks, Lyle Lovett, Phil Collins and more.

Here is the latest from clip OutTake Theater. It features Phil Collins and Leland Sklar being interviewed on the 2nd to last show they did on the 2019 Tour. You can see it was an emotional interview for both of them knowing that this was the last time they would probably tour together again.

Wrecking Crew Followup: The Immediate Family

Dear Wrecking Crew Friends and Family,

It's been some time since I sent you a notice. Some of you already know that we recently lost famed guitarist, Bill Pitman at age 102 and pianist Mike Lang at age 81. We send our love and condolences to their family and friends. They will never be forgotten.

And now some news on a much happier note; I have finished editing my latest documentary called "Immediate Family" as a followup to "The Wrecking Crew".

"Immediate Family" is the story about the next generation of session giants; Leland Sklar, Danny Kortchmar, Russ Kunkel, and Waddy Wachtel.

We started filming in the summer of 2019. In just a few months, we interviewed; Carole King, Lou Adler, Peter Asher, Stevie Nicks, Billy Bob Thornton, Neil Young, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Keith Richards, Don Henley, David Crosby, Phil Collins, Lyle Lovett, Steve Jordan, Val Garay, Russ Titelman, Lenny Waronker, Mike Post and Niko Bolas.

Like "The Wrecking Crew" musicians, their music is a bookmark in time. As James Taylor said, "The creative input of these session guys cannot be overstated. It cannot be overstated".

And also like "The Wrecking Crew" musicians, they were hilarious to work with and I can't wait to share this film with audiences around the world.

We don't have a distributor yet, and as we all know from our previous experience with "The Wrecking Crew" film, it is so important to spread the word to friends and family on all social media platforms. So, please share the "Immediate Family" website www.immediatefamilyfilm.com with everyone where you can see a sneak peak of the film as well as some outtakes.

The great news is that the film has been accepted into 5 major festivals so far and we're still sending it out (see list that are publicly announced below). Introducing "The Immediate Family" and Father's Day Gift Ideas

I'm hoping that everyone is safe and healthy. Summer is here and like so many others I'm looking forward to seeing friends and family.

Over the last couple of years, we have lost so many WC members which has made it really hard and painful when we hear of someone's passing.

I continue to search out old interviews and find new gems. But recently I did an interview for my latest film, "The Immediate Family" with Leland Sklar. If you know anything about Leland, he is not only a master of his bass, but a beautiful human being.

The film is about Leland, Russ Kunkel on Drums, Guitarist Danny Kortchmar, Waddy Wachtel and Steve Postel who after 50 years + continue to record and make music with their band, "Immediate Family". I started this just before COVID and was able to get a few interviews in the can: Carole King, James Taylor, Don Henley, Jackson Browne, Lou Adler, Linda Rondstadt, Clint Black, Neil Young, David Crosby, Al Schmitt, Val Garay, Stevie Nicks, and more. We are now in post and hoping we will release early next year.

In honor of Father's day coming up, I thought I'd share this story about my father, Tommy Tedesco, told by the great, Leland Sklar. Hello Holidays, Goodbye 2020

Hey Wrecking Crew friends and family,

Just a quick note to say, "Goodbye 2020!"

I hope you and your families are well. Recently I was listening to the classic "Christmas Gift For You" album.

This is still considered one of the greatest Christmas albums of all time. But some of you might not know, when it came out in the United States, it was on November 22, 1963, The same day that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated and was a relative failure at the time. Who knew that almost 60 years later, we would be listening to that album that brought us so much joy over the years.

Every year my family would put that album on with all of its scratches and skips and play it while we opened gifts on Christmas morning.

I think the reason great Christmas albums have longevity is the tradition of listening to them only at this time of the year. Its something to look forward to.

I wanted to highlight a couple of Christmas albums that come out of the folks from the Wrecking Crew.

Sax legend, Plas Johnson came out with a Holiday Album with Joey Altruda a few years ago. Its still one of my favorites. I love the rendition of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town", click the cover graphic to check it out.

One of the main reasons I made the Wrecking Crew was the fact that music is forever. Moses gave us the 10 commandments, Thomas Jefferson gave us the Declaration of Independence, and the musicians and artists gave us the music that we can still listen to.

Recently, Mike Post the legendary composer shared some wisdom. We were talking about the changes in music over the years. To quote him, "The only thing that is constant in art, is change". Which brings me to something I was fortunate enough to watch. Last year, I was invited to watch Billy Davis Jr and Marilyn McCoo from the 5th Dimension, record their latest project, called, "Coming2Gether" which was produced by Randy Breedlove and Billy.

The 5th Dimension recordings are still some of my favorite of all time. Billy and Marilyn have a ministry which is called, "Soldiers For The Second Coming". Once you hear a few songs, you realize that Billy's roots comes from Gospel. Their voices are as strong and powerful as ever. I added a piece of the song to the end of the video. But you really should hear that album and their new Christmas song, "It Wouldn't be Christmas".
